About Grow
About Grow, LLC
Grow, LLC was formed in 2007 and focused on writing grants for SBIR loans. In 2010, the vision changed. A new business model was formed in an effort to increase the success of the small business community by providing services to effectively handle entire back-offices for businesses; freeing up both time and money.
Our mission is simple – to reverse the 80% fail rate of small businesses. That’s right. 4 out of 5 fail within the first 5 years. We are committed to working with small business owners to take the guesswork out of running that business. We not only handle all the mundane, non-revenue generating tasks, but we also develop KPI’s, metrics, and strategies to help make each business owner as successful as can be, as quickly as can be.
While becoming an extension of the business, Grow eliminates the need for internal staff and systems; both of which can be very costly and expensive to manage. A single point of contact is assigned to each business. He or she is responsible for learning the culture, processes, and business needs in an effort to provide a customized and scalable back-office solution. Grow also works with the business as a CFO to prepare numbers, interpret data, and guide the business in a forward direction.
Our Team
James E. Casart, CEO, has spent the last thirty years following his passion, providing business advisory and tax consulting services to small and midsized businesses. With his specific expertise in enterprise growth, acquisition and exit planning, and the strategies needed to accomplish those objectives, he has helped structure and negotiate numerous transactions for entrepreneurial businesses, including acquisitions, joint ventures and exit events.
Jim has been involved as a principal, consultant or advisor to over $2 billion in successful transactions in diverse industries. His strategic support helps small businesses in the areas of outsourced financial services, funding and transactional structuring. He provides hands-on assistance in creating and implementing best business practices, including five-year business plans, annual “smart” budgets and initiatives, identification and tracking of key performance indicators, guidance for moving from initial R&D operations through to commercial success, external funding partnerships, “dashboard” management tools for top-level executives, and working with outside advisory boards.
Jim is also a partner at Karsh Consulting, P.C., Certified Public Accountants, where he oversees all tax planning and compliance engagements. Jim’s prior experience includes eight years at Arthur Andersen, a global public accounting firm. He is a Certified Public Accountant with a Master’s degree in Accounting and Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting, Political Science, Economics, and Management Science, all from Rice University, Houston, Texas.
When he is not working, you can find Jim searching for the meaning of life on the tennis court, hiking and traveling with his wife, Margaret, picking guitars, torturing keyboards or reading just about any book that crosses his path. His daughters, Bree and Adrienne, continuously gather clues about the purpose of our existence and occasionally send informative messages back to their parents.
Jarred S. Brown, CFO/COO, has been an entrepreneur since birth, starting his first handyman business at the age of fifteen. Since then he has created and worked for several small businesses. While at Grow, Jarred has been instrumental in shaping the vision and business plan of the company, and remains vigilant to ensure that the goal of helping small businesses is never lost.
Jarred has a BS in Finance and an MS in Accounting, both from the University of Colorado. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a student of the science of business. Before coming to work with Grow in 2008, Jarred spent five years at a Big Four accounting firm. During his time there he worked primarily with larger clients doing risk assessments, developing audit plans, auditing 10-K and 10-Q filings as well as serving as team lead on a $3.8 billion IPO.
Throughout his life, Jarred has enjoyed helping others. Beginning in high school, he donated his time to Share-a-Gift, Habitat for Humanity, Food Bank of the Rockies, Warren Village, and Boys and Girls Club of Colorado. He was a Junior Achievement “Outstanding Volunteer” each year between 2003-2007. After participating in the 2008 Adventures For Charity’s (AFC) Urban Navigator race, Jarred accepted an invitation to join the AFC board of directors where he serves today.
Outside of working hours, you will find Jarred enjoying one (and sometimes more) of his many hobbies. Jarred enjoys any type of outdoor adventure including skiing, mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, camping, sailing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, and whitewater rafting (in other words, he’s as easy to insure as an ice-road trucker). He is also an avid woodworker and has recently restarted his study of mixed martial arts.
Sarah Sinicki, VP Operations, is truly passionate about teaming directly with business owners to help make their companies a success. Sarah works directly with our clients as their right-hand (wo)man, taking over the daily tasks that tend to prevent business owners from doing the work they truly enjoy.
Sarah has a BS in Accounting from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Her experience includes working as a Controller for several businesses over the last fifteen years. The industries she has served include construction, professional service, and wholesale/retail window distribution.
When not at work, you can find Sarah spending time with her husband and two children. She enjoys camping, boating, wakeboarding, backpacking, hiking, and reading. Sarah has been a volunteer with Jr. Achievement for sixteen years. She finds joy in volunteering her time with students, teaching them about business and how if affects our world while encouraging them to stay in school by helping them understand that not all of them will land a record contract.
